pet peeve number one

My current pet peeve is the blatant use of the f-word.

I'm fine with the use of it. I'm no angel and yes, i do admit i find myself guilty using expletives to express my anger or frustrations.

But i simply cannot tolerate those who use it in every single sentence that comes out from their mouths. To me, it just devalues whatever the message is being sent across.

One thing that puzzles me is that does using the f-word emphasizes one's masculinity? It seems to be a favorite word that pops up very frequently in the conversations among guys here.  I'm not sure whether i'm being inaccurate here, but it's the impression i get from my fellow school mates.

same here
frequently use the f-word too, usually when things dont turn out well, or simply cos my head accidentally hit the wall (-_-);
however only use it to my self, not to other person
its ok if im with my friends, though some of them then said things like "tsk .. temper, temper!" or "naah, how come u'd turn rude like thaaaat"
but i have to extra careful at office where ppl there are mostly older than me .. so i just said "Ffffffffffff ..."

yeah
felt better now (-_-);

oh btw,
nice blog (^_^)b
am new here
and following u now ;)

cld be due to NS...these guys fresh out of NS go straight to uni...it's a habit liao and a culture. cld explain why they use the f-word so much. plus so many guys (and even gals) use it, they think itz the norm. TILL they start working in the corporate world...

nanda: hey nanda! thanks for dropping by:) i know that the use of the f-word is really a good stress buster.

i hope eveything at work goes for you. hope to know you better!

jzin: i think it's a way of showing how "cool" they are i guess. interestingly, i had 4 medical students studying at my table a few days after writing this post, and oh man, i think their mouths need some scrubbing.
